5 Strategic Trade Show Marketing Tips

Companies spend thousands of dollars every year to attend and promote their brands at trade shows. It is important to make sure as many attendees as possible come by your booth. Whether your budget is large or small, here are some easy and creative ways to drive more traffic to your brand’s booth at a trade show.

Buy the Show List: Many trade shows will offer the ability to buy a list of exhibitors in advance, among other perks. Some only list names, titles and company names so obtaining their email addresses may take a little effort on your part. Once you do get email addresses, this is a great opportunity to start email marketing campaigns to let them know your company will be there and to stop by your booth.

Utilize Social Media: In the months prior to the show, start creating intriguing posts and content with your company name and booth number along with the relevant show hashtags and industry hashtags. This idea doesn’t take too much effort and can really make a difference in the number of attendees that remember to pay you a visit during the show.

Create Incentives: Set up a special landing page on your website and offer a free whitepaper or other product that will bring value to your customers and further encourage them to visit your booth.

Give Away Swag: Before the show, make sure you order “swag” (hats, notepads, portable chargers, coasters, etc.) and that it is branded properly with your logo. It is a given that people like free things, but it is essential to make sure that yours separates itself visually from other companies’.

Be Creative With Your Booth: Whether you plan on doing a closed or open concept with your trade show booth, make sure it stands out from the crowd. Be sure to utilize eye catching table runners and pop-up banners to grab the attention of passersby.
